Hi everyone,

I would just like to let you know how Magenup went at the ARCA Interclub Autumn Challenge on the weekend just gone.

Magenup only joined the ARCA this year so this was our first interclub challenge. We put up a fantastic team who were:
Emma Maney riding Jamie
Helen Elston riding King
Kate Elston riding Monty
Niki Cottingham riding Michelle Jennens boy Bobby
Fleur Litster riding Ed
Susan Leeming riding Banjo
Liz Wollaston riding Shakia
Jenny LeMesseurier riding Swannie
And me riding Honda

Full team results and photo’s will be on the website next week for everyone to see.

I would personally like to pass on a HUGE thanks to our fantastic Chef de Quip (who also moonlights as our president) Caz… she gave up her day to come along and organise and support us all day. Without her we wouldn’t have had a chance in the best presented class… it was definitely the fact that all the zips on our vests were in identical positions that won us the 2nd place!

Also a huge thanks to Miss Sarah, her dedication to making sure that she recorded each and every result of all of our riders. Plus the constant running around and holding horses.

Without people like Caz and Sarah the day wouldn’t have been as great as it was.

Also I would like to pass on a MASSIVE thanks to Brooke from Perfect Pony Photographics. She got up at the same ungodly hour as the rest of us and came along for a very long day. He eye barely left the view finder of that fantastic camera of hers and she took over 1000 photos of our team!!! If anyone would like a copy of all of the photos that she took please let me know. She made a HUGE effort to get a heap of photos of each and every team member. She is offering a CD of all of the photo’s for the very low price of $30 for the CD. This is compared to the usual price of $8-$25 for 1 printed photo (depending on the size) or $50 for a CD of photos of you, for you to reproduce as you will.

And most importantly… I would like to pass on a big congratulations and thanks to all of our members who represented MARG on Sunday. It was a super early start and a very long day. The support that every member gave the other members was absolutely fantastic!!! A lot of people commented on how marvellously we supported each other… apparently our cheer squad (AKA whoever wasn’t competing at the time!) could be heard from the club house!! I know the support that I received was incredible and Honda and I wouldn’t have done as well as we did without it!

The Final Results for High Point Trophy are:
1st Place Gnangara 434 points
2nd Place Wanneroo 431 points
3rd Place Magenup 188 points
4th Place Kelmscott 158 points
5th Place Avon Valley 109 points
6th Place Bakers Hill 95 points
7th Place Gidge 88 points
8th Place Zamia 79 points

9th Place Gidge 88 divided by 8 riders = 11.000 %
10th Place Kalamunda 7 divided by 2 riders = 3.5 %

Places for Best Presented Club:
1st Place: Wanneroo
2nd Place: Magenup
3rd Place: Avon Valley
4th Place : Gnangara
5th Place : Kelmscott
6th Place: Bakers Hill

Our results are especially impressive considering that this is our first ever interclub challenge, that we only had 9 riders (compared to Wanneroo’s 19 and Gnangara’s 28!) and we really only competed in the hacking and handy pony, not the jumping.

So a huge congrats to everyone who competed. You guys were AMAZING!!!

To all our club members… if you would like to compete at the Winter Interclub Challenge it is a Dressage Day and will be held on the 31st of August. More information will be out soon, so keep an eye on the website.

I’ll get the full results and photo’s up on the website as soon as I can.

Cheers
Beth
